“I believe my experience as a central office administrator will serve the district and the new superintendent well. “I enjoy seeing students succeed and I truly believe that one of the pillars of a successful school district is a solid financial foundation,” said Scavelli. Scavelli said he is humbled by the opportunity to work in Bristol Township School District and will do his best to serve the community.

Additionally, he earned the following certificates from the New Jersey Department of Education: School Administrator, School Business Administrator and Teacher of Mathematics. He graduated from Glassboro State College with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in school business administration. “I enjoyed teaching and coaching, but was encouraged and supported by several seasoned administrators to pursue a leadership role very early in my career,” said Scavelli, who has worked as a school business administrator for 17 years and superintendent for 14 years. He started his career in education in 1988 as a high school math teacher, and served as an assistant football and wrestling coach. Scavelli is currently the interim school business administrator and board secretary at Berlin Borough School District and brings extensive experience to Bristol Township.

He will also oversee transportation, facilities, food services and other enterprise activities. This includes oversight of all budget, accounting, purchasing and payroll functions. As business manager, Scavelli’s main function is to oversee the finances of the district and see that funds are spent appropriately to support the overall education of students.
